Chicken in Sweet Soy Sauce

This is one of my favourite dishes to pair with rice that my mother often threw together. It's a simple yet very delightful dish that always keep me coming back for more. The sweet and salty taste of the sweet soy sauce pairs really well with the tender and juicy chicken.

This dish is a great example of what you can do with limited ingredients at home and still have a very delightful meal. Each ingredient in this recipe is very easily sourced and relatively affordable.

Ingredients (serves 8 people comfortably)

1 whole chicken - divided into 8 or 14 cuts (optionally you may use breasts, cut into chunks)

1/2 cup sweet soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp worcestershire sauce

1 liter water

Turmeric powder

Cooking oil

1. Marinade the chicken with turmeric powder and salt for at least 15 minutes.

2. Heat cooking oil in a pan and add the marinated chicken.

3. Give it a stir and add in the sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, and worcestershire sauce.

5. Finally, add the water, stir and cover until it boils and reduced a little.
